Keeping your skin fresh and healthy is easier than you think. Exfoliating at least once a week—or twice if you can—helps remove dead skin cells, clears out leftover makeup and product buildup, and gives your skin a natural glow. Plus, it reduces the chances of breakouts and scarring by keeping your pores clean.
If you’re looking for a simple and budget-friendly way to add exfoliation to your skincare routine, you don’t need to spend a fortune on store-bought products. Instead, you can make an effective DIY face scrub using just three common ingredients: coffee, honey, and baking soda.
To make the scrub, mix equal parts of coffee, honey, and baking soda. A tablespoon of each works well, but you can adjust the quantity as needed. Store the mixture in an airtight container in the fridge, where it will stay fresh for up to a week.
Before applying the scrub, cleanse your face to remove any makeup, sunscreen, or lotion, but don’t dry your skin. Gently massage the scrub onto your face for at least 45 seconds, then let it sit for three to five minutes.
When you’re ready, rinse it off with lukewarm water and pat your skin dry. Finish with your favorite facial serum or moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated and glowing.
