I’ve always loved wearing pigtails. While many women prefer flat irons, stylish updos, or headwraps, I stick with my trusty pigtails. And yes, I’ll be turning 40 in six months.
Now, before anyone assumes this is some kind of midlife crisis, let me clarify—it’s not. Sure, I’ve been known to hop on the occasional kiddie ride outside the supermarket, but that’s beside the point.
My pigtails aren’t the high, playful kind you’d see on a kindergartener, nor am I channeling a Halloween costume look. I simply like them. They’re low, loose, and, in my opinion, pretty cute. To me, they feel feminine, fun, and effortlessly stylish. Depending on the hair ties I use, they can go from soft and romantic to sleek and modern in no time.
From a practical standpoint, pigtails are a great way to keep my hair out of my face, whether I’m at the gym, cleaning, or dashing into the mall for a shoe sale. Sure, ponytails do the same job, but pigtails add a little extra charm that I really enjoy.
So, there you have it—I’m almost 40, I wear pigtails, and I love them!
What about you? Do you wear pigtails? Do you think age matters, or does the style—high or low—make a difference? Let’s talk about it!
